Delegates Reaching by Train
  • Delegates arriving by train can get down either at Secunderabad, Kacheguda or Nampally railway station. The closest station being Secunderabad station.
  • There is Bus No-229 from Secunderabad station to Kandalakoi bus stop. CHAI Training Center is only 3 kms from this bus stop.
  • Delegates can also avail taxis (Ola, Uber or pre-paid) to the CHAI Training Center. The venue is located around 30 kms from the railway station.
  • From 27th afternoon to 28th morning, there will be CHAI Help Desks at the railway stations. Please contact them for further assistance.

Delegates Reaching by Bus
  • Delegates coming by Bus to Hyderabad, will finally stop at Mahatma Gandhi bus station (MGBS).
  • From MGBS, bus number 7K/229 will take you to Kandalakoi bus stop. CHAI Training Center is only 2 kms from this bus stop.

Delegates Reaching by Air
Delegates reaching Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (Hyderabad) can avail taxis (Ola, Uber or pre-paid) to the CHAI Training Center. The venue is located about 57 kms from the airport
Delegates can also take airport bus facility to reach Jubilee bus station and then take an auto or taxi to CHAI Training Center.

The weather in September is expected to be pleasant. However, you may carry an umbrella. Also, please bring a bath-towel and soap along with you.
The delegates are requested to make their own arrangements for journey tickets. The AGBM programme is expected to conclude on 29th September 2018 at 03.00 pm. Accordingly, you may book return tickets by trains/buses that leave Hyderabad after 04.00 pm on 29th September 2018. Those who need accommodation after 29th September 2018 must enter the Departure data in the Registration form accordingly.
  • Accommodation is arranged at various locations across Hyderabad– in non-A/C, sharing rooms/Dormitory. The exact location will be informed to you via email once you register. If you do not get an email regarding your location, please mail to nhc@chai-india.org
  • For those who are arriving on September 28th morning, please come directly to the venue and we will take you to your accommodation locations in the evening.

The CHAI Awards are instituted to honour the exemplary contribution of the people in our Member Institutions.

CHAI

Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI)
Founded in 1943 by Sr. Dr Mary Glowrey, an Australian Nun, CHAI is one of the largest pan Indian healthcare networks in the country after the Government, consisting of 3521 Member Institutions (MIs): 1409 dispensaries, 913 health centers and 928 hospitals – with over 50,000 beds, 210 Disability rehabilitation centers and 90 Holistic Care Centers for PLHIV etc.

Over 92% of CHAI MIs are headed by Sister Doctors/Nurses/Social Workers and 84% serve in the medically underserved areas. They operate under 11 Regional Units across India. CHAI MIs extend medical care to over 21 million persons in a year - with a team of 1000 Sister-Doctors; 25,000 Sister-Nurses; 10,000 plus Sister-paraprofessionals, around 40,000 Sister/Priest Social Workers and a huge number of lay employees.

Since its inception, CHAI holds its Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM) with its members. In 2018, as part of the Platinum Jubilee Celebration it will conduct its 75th AGBM and the 2-day National Health Convention (NHC).

NHC

National Health Convention

The two–day National Health Convention and 75th AGBM of CHAI will be held at the CHAI Training Centre, Kandalakoi, Secunderabad, Telangana on 28th and 29th September 2018. The theme for the NHC/AGBM is “Serving the Nation in Reaching the Unreached” as part of the overall 5-year theme of “Action 2020: Repositioning for the Future”.

We are expecting around 500 representatives from the various member institutions of CHAI to gather on the occasion.
